Questions about Storywell, content creation, and marketing for small businesses

Marketing your business shouldn't mean spending hours wondering what to post, trying to become a social media expert, or constantly creating content from scratch.

Storywell helps small businesses turn the work they're already doing into useful, engaging marketing content—so you can spend more time running your business and less time figuring out what to post.

Here are some of the questions I hear most often.

What is Storywell?

Storywell is a small-business marketing and content creation service built around a simple idea: your business already has a story. You just need to tell it well.

I help business owners capture the right photos and video, turn that footage into social media content, and create practical marketing systems that make showing up consistently much easier.

Who does Storywell work with?

Storywell works primarily with small businesses, independent business owners, entrepreneurs, and service-based businesses that need marketing support but don't necessarily need—or want—a full-time marketing department.

I especially enjoy working with businesses where the owner is deeply involved in the day-to-day work and doesn't have the time or expertise to turn that work into consistent content.

Do I have to be good at social media to work with Storywell?

Absolutely not.

You don't need to know what to post, how to write a caption, or what makes a good video.

That's part of what Storywell is here to help with. I create a clear content plan and tell you what footage to capture. You provide the real-life moments from your business, and I turn them into marketing content.

Do I have to create all of my own content?

No.

Depending on the service you choose, Storywell can help you capture content, provide a shot list for you or your team to capture, or create new content from footage you already have.

The goal is to make content creation fit into the way you already run your business—not create another job for you.

What is Content Capture?

Content Capture is a simple system for getting the raw photos and video your business needs without requiring you to become a content creator.

Storywell provides a customized shot list showing you exactly what to capture. You capture the footage during your normal business activities, then send it to Storywell.

I use that footage to create polished social media content that reflects your actual business.

You get the shots. I tell the story—the Storywell way.

What if I already have a lot of photos and videos?

That's great!

You don't necessarily need to start over.

Storywell can take existing footage and turn it into fresh content, helping you get more mileage from the photos and videos you've already captured.

This is especially useful for businesses that have a camera roll full of good content but no idea what to do with it.

Do you create social media captions?

Yes.

Depending on your service, Storywell can create the captions, hooks, calls to action, and other written content that goes along with your social media posts.

The goal is to give you content that is ready to use rather than another blank screen staring back at you.

Do you manage my social media accounts?

Storywell's content services are designed to provide you with the content and strategy, while you maintain control of your social media accounts and posting.

For example, with a monthly content subscription, Storywell creates new content from the footage you provide and delivers it with captions and a posting schedule. You do the posting.

This gives you consistent marketing content without handing over your entire social media presence.

How often should a small business post on social media?

There isn't one magic number that works for every business.

Consistency is generally more important than trying to post constantly.

The right schedule depends on your business, your audience, the platforms you're using, and how much quality content you can realistically create.

Storywell focuses on creating a sustainable content system that you can actually keep up with.

What should I post on social media if I don't know what to post?

Start with what you're already doing.

Your process, your products, your customers, your expertise, your personality, behind-the-scenes moments, frequently asked questions, before-and-after transformations, and the problems you solve can all become content.

You don't need to manufacture interesting things for social media. Your business is already producing stories.

Storywell helps you recognize them and turn them into content.

Do I need professional photography or expensive equipment?

Not necessarily.

Modern smartphones can capture excellent photos and video when you know what to capture and how to use it.

Storywell's Content Capture system is designed around realistic, usable footage—not creating a Hollywood production every time you need a social media post.

The most important thing is capturing the right moments.

Can Storywell help me if I don't have much content?

Yes.

In fact, that's often where a content system is most helpful.

Instead of constantly asking yourself, "What should I post?", Storywell can help you identify the moments, activities, and information within your business that can become content.

Once you know what to look for, content becomes much easier to capture.

How does the Storywell process work?

The process depends on the service, but generally it looks something like this:

1. We figure out what your business needs.
We start with your goals, your audience, and what's currently working—or not working—in your marketing.

2. We create a content plan.
Storywell identifies the stories, topics, and types of content that will help you communicate what makes your business different.

3. You capture the real stuff.
When you're using a Content Capture system, you'll receive a simple shot list showing you what footage to collect.

4. Storywell turns footage into content.
Your photos and video become social media posts, captions, hooks, and other marketing assets.

5. You publish and keep doing business.
You receive organized, usable content so marketing becomes part of your routine instead of something you constantly have to figure out.

How much does Storywell's marketing service cost?

Storywell offers several levels of marketing and content support, depending on how much help your business needs.

Some services are project-based, while monthly content subscriptions provide ongoing content creation from the footage you capture.

Does Storywell work with businesses outside Delaware?

Yes.

While Storywell is based in Delaware, many aspects of content planning, strategy, writing, and content creation can be handled remotely.

For businesses outside the area, the Content Capture system makes it possible to work together without requiring Storywell to be physically present at your business.

What makes Storywell different from a social media manager?

A social media manager typically focuses on managing your social media presence, including scheduling, publishing, engagement, and ongoing platform management.

Storywell focuses more heavily on the story behind the content—helping you figure out what to capture, what to say, and how to turn the everyday work of your business into meaningful marketing.

You don't necessarily need someone to take over your social media.

Sometimes you just need someone to help you figure out what the heck you're supposed to post.

That's where Storywell comes in.

Do I need a marketing strategy if I'm a small business?

Yes—but it doesn't have to be complicated.

A good small-business marketing strategy should help you understand who you're trying to reach, what you want them to know, why they should choose you, and how you're going to consistently communicate that message.

Storywell focuses on practical marketing strategies that make sense for real small businesses—not giant corporate marketing plans that require a marketing department to implement.

Can Storywell help me get more customers?

Marketing can help you become more visible, communicate your value, build trust, and stay in front of potential customers.

But no ethical marketer can guarantee a specific number of customers, followers, or sales from social media.

Storywell's job is to help you create better, more consistent marketing that gives your business a stronger opportunity to be seen, understood, remembered, and chosen.

Is Storywell only about social media?

No.

Social media is one part of the bigger picture.

Storywell's approach is about helping small businesses communicate their story and market themselves more effectively. That can include content creation, content strategy, messaging, marketing ideas, and other practical marketing support.

Social media is simply one of the places where those stories can be told.

I'm overwhelmed by marketing. Where do I start?

Start with the thing you already know best: your business.

You don't need to become a marketing expert overnight.

You need a clear understanding of what you want to say, who you want to reach, and a realistic system for communicating it consistently.

That's exactly the kind of problem Storywell was created to solve.

You run the business. I'll help you tell the story.

Still have questions?

Let's talk about what your business actually needs.

You don't need to arrive with a marketing plan. That's part of the work we can figure out together.
